We had a dynamic Podcaster meeting with guest speaker Danielle Desir Corbett, a podcast marketing coach passionate about helping podcasters grow their audience, influence, and income.
Danielle, the host of The Thought Card, an award-winning affordable luxury travel and personal finance podcast is also the founder of WOC Podcasters (Women of Color) a podcasting community dedicated to amplifying Women of Color in audio.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Don’t have your podcast embeddable player in the first paragraph. and create specific pages for each episode to share for better SEO.
- Use links to your podcast player in show notes and make them specific to each podcast.
- Point folks to 2-3 relevant episodes afterwards to create a “sticky” web experience.
- Transcripts are helpful with timestamps. Share more and write notes in depth that expand upon the topics thinking about WIIFM (what’s in it for me).
- Highlight guests bio that you capture in onboarding guest form. Include their links.
- There are AI tools to support you, search for AI copywriting tools and test out all the free versions. You can upload the audio files and it will do the blog posts, show notes, and timestamps that you can use as a first draft.
- Think about the value for your listener when you create your show notes.
- Podlink – is a universal podcast platform that consolidates all your links
