Grand Potential Podcast

23Sep

What a beautiful reminder of the many possibilities that can grow from sharing our stories and our expertise! Kimberley Day showed us how a book can become so much more than something we publish, it can be a doorway to meaningful connections, new opportunities, speaking engagements, collaborations, and greater visibility. We explored how gifting our books, building relationships with readers, and intentionally sharing our knowledge can help create a community around the work we care about.

A special thank you to our wonderful co-host, Sue Toth, for helping bring these conversations to life. Together, we were reminded that when we lead with generosity and create value for others, our stories can open doors and create ripples of connection far beyond the pages of a book. 💗

🌟Kimberley Day shared:

  • Explained that your book can become a powerful networking magnet, opening doors to new relationships, speaking opportunities, collaborations, and expert positioning.
  • A book can serve as a powerful calling card because it demonstrates your expertise without requiring you to simply claim authority.
  • Gifting your book to event organizers, podcast hosts, influencers, and potential partners can create natural opportunities to start conversations and get in front of new communities.
  • Encouraged authors to think beyond simply selling books and consider how their books can support their business, visibility, and relationships.
  • A landing page for the book can help authors collect names and email addresses, allowing them to nurture readers into future clients or customers.
  • Shared that giving away digital copies of a book can also generate social proof, testimonials, and engagement when connected to a clear action.
  • The book can become a bridge to podcasts, speaking engagements, media opportunities, and other platforms where authors can share their expertise.
  • Emphasized that the purpose of a business book should connect with what is valuable to the reader, not simply focus on the author’s story.
  • Showed how sharing individual chapters or excerpts can give people a taste of the book and create another way to build interest and connections.
  • Overall, the key message was to stop thinking of your book as something that simply gets published and instead use it intentionally as a door opener for visibility, relationships, opportunities, and collaboration.
